CHAPTER 25

Celebrate the Second Coming

Isaiah Chapter 25 verse 1

O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Praise to the Majestic and Power of Mighty God

Isaiah Chapter 25 verse 2-5

For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.

Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

The city being discussed is the End Times Babylon. It is promised destruction in previous chapters 13, 14, and 21.  The full story is described in Revelation 14 and Revelation 18 along with the Seventh vial of John’s prophecy.

Such large destruction of the world’s powerful kingdom. There is fear and awe for God.

“…the noise of strangers…”  = the ruckus of invading armies into the land.

“branch” = Hebrew is “zemirah” - a song to be accompanied by musical instruments.

The enemy with their celebration song will be made silent.

Isaiah Chapter 25 verse 6

And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

“And in this mountain…” (from last chapter verse 23) = Mount Zion

Feasts were times of celebrations and rejoicing.

“lees” = “dregs” - wines that have been kept for a long time.

The wine is run through a cloth to separate the dregs.

“…fat things full of marrow…” = Abundant Provisions

The Messiah has come and taken away all enemies.  Including the Anti-christ.

What a time for a Victory Feast!

Isaiah Chapter 25 verse 7-8a

And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces;

Destroy = get rid of

“…face of the covering…”  - faces are usually covered when in mourning or distress

Prophecy of death on Calvary.

There has been a “veil” over the face of the planet since Adam sinned in the Garden.  That will be removed.  Sin sacrifice made with the pure lamb sacrifice taking place on Calvary.  The veil of the Temple was torn, no separation between man and God.  When he returns to that same place all sin and presence of Satan and the demons will be removed from being a presence to influence man.

Very similar to Revelations 21:4.

Isaiah Chapter 25 verse 8b

and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

“…rebuke…”

His People have had great harassment, rejection, and abuse for centuries.

Isaiah Chapter 25 verse 9

And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

“…in that day…”  after EVERYTHING that has transpired in previous verses happens, then the Millennium Kingdom arrives.

Peace and Worship of the King in JERUSALEM.  This is what has been waited for!

  (Ezekiel 43 and Isaiah 52)

Isaiah Chapter 25 verse 10-12

For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.

And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.

And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

Bring all enemies under the authority of God.

Final destruction of Moab.
