THE BOOK OF HOSEA

Introduction

Written prior to the fall and final destruction of the Northern Kingdom of Israel (Samaria, Ephraim). Contains God’s charges against and His pleas for them to return to Him. By the end of the book, Israel has been given the final invitation to return to God before being dissolves as a nation.  Kingdom of Judah would continue as a nation for several more decades before they would also face similar message.  The messages tie in with the chronological events beginning in 2Kings 17.
