God was patient with Humans for centuries, watching the depths of depravity Man could crawl into. The flood of Noah’s day gave mankind a chance at a fresh start. Man decided He was better than God and rebelled in every method he could come up with.

Samuel was the last Judge/Prophet/Priest speaking for God before the people demanded a king. They wanted what those nations around them had. A Man-KING to rule them, not God! The Jews were intended to be a unique people and not like other cultures. They got their man for a king and the history of the Jews took a wrong detour once again. Led by the desires for power, these men led them in paths of evil.

The “Prophet” was a normal human man given a message from God. The message being intended for nation or king. These were men who saw events through the eyes of man as we as humans do. However, they were also given prophecies related to the future.
