Creation and Pre-Creation
Jeremiah 4:23-26 The earth had no form and was void. There was no light in the atmosphere (no stars, moon or sun). There was no man and all the birds (of heaven) had flown away. There was a fruitful place on earth that was now a wilderness (dead to life). The cities that existed had been destroyed by God’s anger!
Is there any record of this happening since the days of the creation of Adam and Eve? NO !
Colossians 1:15-17 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Hebrews 1:10-12
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
Foundations of the earth were created in the beginning but WILL PERISH.
The Lord shall never cease!
“Foundation of the World”
Three examples from Scholar Paul in his writings in Hebrews
PHRASE #1
Hebrews 4:3b …although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
This phrase is used in Matthew 13:35; 25:34; Luke 11:50; John 17:24; Ephesians 1:4; Hebrews 4:3, 9:26; 1 Peter 1:20; Revelation 13:8, 17:8
Same words used in 2 Corinthians 4:9; Revelation 12:10 but in those verses the words were translated as “Cast down”
“foundation” in the Greek is “katabole” = the founding, conceive, conception of, foundation
and katabole derives from “kataballo” = to throw down, cast down, descend
“world” in the Greek is “kosmos” = orderly arrangement, the world in a wide sense, its decoration.
i.e: social structure
These terms are then referring to a time period PRIOR to Genesis 1:2. The PRE-ADAM time period.
Genesis 1:2; 2 Peter 3:5-8; Psalm 104:5-9; Jeremiah 4:23-26
Which would also have included the time period of the fall of Lucifer
Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:11-17; Luke 10:18
PHRASE #2
Hebrews 6:1 … not laying again the foundation of repentance
“foundation” in the Greek is “themelios” = To put down, set, something to put into place as in a structure
Also derives from “kataballo” = to throw down, cast down, descend
Used in verse above means:
Do not cast down or destroy the foundation already laid
This phrase is used in this form in Luke 6:48-49; 14:29; Romans 15:20; 1Corinthians 3:11-12; Ephesians 2:20; 1Timothy 6:19; 2Timothy 2:19; Hebrews 6:1; 11:10; Revelation 21:14,19
PHRASE #3
Hebrews 1:10 …laid the foundation of the earth…
“foundation” in the Greek is “themelios” = To lay a basis for, erect, consolidate, grounded.
Derives itself from themelios
This phrase used in Matthew 7:25; Ephesians 3:17 (grounded); Colossians 1:23 (grounded); 1Peter 5:10 (stablish)
ONLY used in Hebrews 1:10 in reference to the founding of the earth
